Mac OS X: colours of highlights of selected text, and of the over/underlying text, for active and inactive windows

colours of highlight of selected text, and of selected text — when window is both active and inactive — are somehow not right
Spun off from <http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=98924>:

Now, experimenting with black (something unmistakable) as a user-preferred highlight in System Preferences, some very varied results:

black-higlighted text in Finder

black-highlighted text to be renamed in Finder

black-highlighted black text to be renamed in Safari

black-highlighted black text in Firefox 3.0.5 browser window
(postscript: the text may be dark grey, not black)

black-highlighted black text in Firefox 3.0.5 address bar

black-highlighted black text in TextEdit - active window

black highlight in TextEdit - inactive window

black-highlighted text in OOo DEV300 m41 - active window

black-highlighted text in OOo DEV300 m41 - inactive window

Experiments with black aside. Back to the green highlighted examples, at the head of this message.

Of the two green-highlighted texts, which is more legible?

Cheers
Graham
